Whether this state has a sufficient governmental interest to entertain subject matter jurisdiction to adjudicate the merits of an employee's claims for workers' compensation benefits for pre-1967 out-of-state work-related injuries depends on an appraisal of the facts of each case. 2. Applying the legitimate-interest test to the facts of employee's, an airline stewardess, claims for benefits for three such pre-1967 injuries, we hold that, where employer airline's business is localized in this state, employer has qualified as an insured under our laws, employee received welfare payments as a consequence of such injuries, employee lacked a permanent residence outside this state by reason of the nature of employer's business and her duties requiring extensive travel from her assigned residence, the nature of the inception of the employment relationship, and the hazard of her being precluded from obtaining any relief, this state has a sufficient governmental interest to entertain jurisdiction as to the merits of such claims.
